Crafting Resilience: A Journey into Mental Wellness and Self-Discovery
Uncover the secrets to mental wellness and self-discovery. Join me on this transformative journey as we craft resilience together.
Welcome to a deeply personal project of mine that has been in the making for quite some time.
This project has been born out of the profound impact of losing my mother five years ago,
A loss that catapulted me into a bewildering tunnel of emotions.
At the tender age of 19, awakened in my freshmen dorm - I found myself grappling with confusion, loneliness, and insecurity.
In the wake of her absence, a profound void emerged, leaving me with a sense of incompleteness, as if a vital piece of myself had been spirited away. As the years have unfolded, navigating through the labyrinth of grief has been needless to say…
challenging.
My identity had become entwined with hers, and now the responsibility falls upon me to unravel the mystery of who Emma truly is.
*my face writing this right now… 😬*
This newsletter is my testament to that journey.
Within these digital pages, I'll lay bare my heartbreaks week by week, share the intricacies of my experiences, delve into vulnerabilities, and celebrate the small victories that are marking my path to discovering who I am and who I can become.
Every Wednesday, I invite you to join me in this space where we can get messy, get sappy, and be raw.
Life, after all, is a magnificent project of self-creation.
I believe that by sharing stories, we can inspire each other to embrace our journey of self-discovery and growth.

Dear Sweet Emma, so brave, so vulnerable, such a deep dive to growth! I applaud your efforts, your sharing, your gift of love - - for that is what walking with someone is! So ironic, OR NOT!, that your first entry arrives today, January 17, the birthday of my brother, Kingston McLaughlin Stewart! (I absolutely love his name!) Today would have been his 61st birthday. Utterly unbelievable as he left this world when he was 8. I tell you this because in 53 years, King's spirit has never left me, his influence on my life has never waivered. Gone over 6 times longer than he was 'here'! You will not 'get over' the loss of your mom, nor should you! Her love in shaping you and in continuing to guide you in spirit will be among the most powerful forces of your life. Certainly not passings that we would choose or pain that can be denied for 'we' are selfish beings who want physical presence, yet not an end, only another level of being and yes love, that we must continually strive to grasp, pray for greater understanding. This journey is daunting indeed but never done alone. xo Wendy
